SPENCER K. TAYLOR was the 6th child born to Zack and Rachel {West} Taylor in Holden MO.

He was also reared and educated in the Holden MO area.

He attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated From Holden High School in 1958,

His class was also the first to be integrated in Holden.

At the age of 10, his father Zack passed away and all of a sudden Spencer thought he was the man of the house. Spencer was raised with his younger brother Kenneth, and 4 nieces, Mary Louise, Gladys (Willene), Joyce and Charlene. They were raised more like siblings, rather than nieces. Him being the oldest; he thought he was the boss.

As a young man he was a very hard worker; working after school at DAY'S WELDING SHOP.

He went on to become a master welder that inspired his great -great nephews to also become master welders. Spencer served Johnson County in several capacities before retiring from Stahls.

Spencer was brought up in church and accepted Christ at a very early age. He was always willing to share his baritone (crooner style) singing voice anytime he was asked.

Spencer loved to cook, fish and play dominoes with his Buddies. You were always welcome at his home. No one left there hungry.

He leaves to cherish his memory 2 sons, Kerwin Shockley, Nathan Collins and God daughters Barbara White and Chloe Johnson. Doris Taylor (Sister in law) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special cousins Hattye Sexton, Bonnie Fears, Zelma Richardson, David West and Special friends Jenny Brown, Tim Reed and Stevie Hardin

Each of them being very special to him.

Spencer was preceded in his parents Zack and Rachelle Taylor. 3 sisters, Jessie (Corinthian)

F James, Hattie L. (Tobe) Moore, Gladys M.(Calvin)Booker, 3 brothers, Alvin S. Taylor,

Milton J Taylor, Kenneth A. Taylor and Sharon Kay Shockley Taylor(Sister in law).
