Obituary

Virginia "Jenny" Mae Porter went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2022, at the age of 71 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. She was a caring mother, nana, sister and aunt.

Virginia was born to Robert Uhl and Martha Viola (Shriner) Porter on July 17, 1950. She was the youngest of 10 children.

Virginia is survived by her two children, Richard Porter (Independence), April Sollars (Clint) (Maysville), five grandchildren, Hunter (13), Gracey (11), Kenlee (9), Baylee (7) and Landyn (3). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Raymond, Ralph "Jack", and Robert "Bobby". Her 6 sisters, Mildred "Maxine", Mary Jane, Dorothy, Arvella, Shirley and Grace. She is also preceded in death by her Daughter in law Lisa Porter, nephew David Burton, and brother in laws Donald Burton and Samuel Root II.

Virginia resided at Riverbend Heights in Lexington, MO, for nearly 20 years, where she was loved my many. She loved to spend time with her family, whom she was very proud of. Her grandbabies and grand dogs were the light of her life. Virginia spent most of her time taking care of her flowers, watching the birds, listening to music, crocheting, cross stitching, watching Little House on the Prairie, and going to church. She proudly supported the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals. Over the years, Virginia became a mother and grandmother figure to many people. She had a way about her that made you do whatever she said. She loved to laugh, eat good food and talk about the weather. She will be greatly missed.
