Vivian Valera Russell, age 86, of Warrensburg, Missouri, formerly of Bellevue, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday October 23, 2022 in Overland Park, Kansas.

Vivian was born January 28, 1936 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Evelyn Hunt.

Vivian graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa.

On June 26, 1960 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, Vivian Hunt and Thomas Wallace Russell Jr. were united in marriage.

Vivian spent most of her working years as a Registered Nurse with the Veterans Administration in Omaha, Nebraska.

In her spare time, Vivian enjoyed volunteering as a docent (guide) at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska and Quilting with the Lutheran World Relief Quilting Group at her church.

Vivian is survived by her sister Ray Vogl (Al) of Ames, Iowa, four sons: Robert (Karen) Russell of LaRue, Texas, Gene (Kim) Russell of Warrensburg, Missouri, David Russell of Crested Butte, Colorado, and Tim (Laura) Russell of Littleton, Colorado, seven grandchildren: Kendall, Christopher, Adam (Chrissy), Zachary (Ashley), Kaylee, Ian, and Quinn Russell, and two great grandsons: Sawyer and Owen Russell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Thomas Russell

Memorial services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday November 12th, in Warrensburg, Missouri at Sweeny-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Kurz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church (Bellevue, Nebraska) World Relief Quilting Group or the Henry Doorly Zoo.
