Obituary

William A. Shrewsbury, 51, passed away May 31, 2024, at his home in Warrensburg, very suddenly and unexpectedly.

William was born August 16, 1972, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Ray-Pec High School in 1990 and from Centriq Training in 2011.

He was united in marriage to Kim Presley on October 7, 1995. They were reunited in marriage on February 28, 2014.

William was a truck driver for the first 14 years of their marriage. Over those years, he taught many of his friends the ins and outs of trucking, helping them to get their CDL and amassing many stories along the way. Over the last 15 years, he began working in Technology which utilized his love of computers from an early age.
He started as a software engineer and worked his way up to a Salesforce Solution Architect.

William is survived by his wife, Kim; one son, Tyler; and two daughters, Asher and Allison; his baby sister, Shalimar Fisk; niece Kyra Fisk; great Uncle Thomas Edward Sims Sr (affectionately known as Uncle Eddie) and his wife Sandy; great Aunt Sandra Sims Williams and a myriad of cousins and extended family.

William is also survived by his honorary, bonus children; Chasity Smith, Hunter Hamid, Jesse Nielsen, and Cyrrus Norman. They weren't his biologically, but he'd tell everyone about his bonus kids. How proud he was of them for different accomplishments and how much he loved them. He did everything he could to always help, encourage, and support them just like his own kids.

William didn't believe that blood made you family, but loyalty did. He chose to keep his circle small but mighty. He is also survived by his chosen brothers; Paul O'Brien, Lee Anderson, Carl Staas, Will Lemen, Ray Houts, Paul Duryee, Darin Savage, and Brad Bromwell.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Fisk; grandparents, George Robert (Bob) and Lois Sims Fisk; and great grandparents, John, who was his beloved "Papa John", and Rose Fisk. As well as one of his chosen brothers,
Christopher "Rockhound" Smith.

William was cremated, per his wishes. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at Sycamore Ridge in Cleveland, MO on August 17th, from 3-7pm.
